DIMEX
quantitative D-Dimer measurement
two channels, low reagent volume, cost-effective measurements

Now with AOS - Automatic Optic Start
(with the addition of Latex the measurement starts automatically).

The Dimex is a two channel optical instrument designed for the quantitative determination of D-Dimer. The test procedure is optimized for easy handling and quick turnaround time. The accurate and precise results are reported in different selectable dimensions.

The principle of detection is based on the agglutination of D-Dimer antigen in the assay sample, with D-Dimer monoclonal antibody coated latex particles. The rate of agglutination is proportional to the decrease in transmitted laser light. The Dimex utilizes a unique modified kinetic algorithem, which eliminates false results caused by the by the "High-Dose-Hook-Effect". The results are available within 80 seconds. Further, either duplicate or single measurements can be carried out.

Pipetting scheme:
  • 25 µL Plasma (sample)
  • + 50 µL Reaction Buffer
  • 2-4 minutes incubation
  • + 50 µL Latex
The Dimex is perfectly suitable for all laboratories, as well as Emergency Rooms, Clinics and physician office laboratories

Tests
Quantitative D-Dimer (other tests under development)

Assay range for sample concentrations
50 - 6.000 µg/L (undiluted plasma)
> 6.000 µg/L (1:10 pre-dilution of sample)

Selectable dimensions
dE/min, mg/L, µg/mL, µg/L, ng/mL

Coefficient of Variation (CV - with TECO D-Dimer reagents)
at 200 µg/L: <10%; at 1000 µg/L: <7%; at 2.000µg/L: <5%

Technical Description
The Dimex is a microcomputer controlled instrument with two optical channels and a LC-Display. The tests will be automatically selected when entering the measure mode. The dialog language is user friendly and available in English, German, Italian, French, Spain, Portugues. Other languages can be provided optionally.

The Main program offers following menu:
  • ANALYSIS
  • CALIBRATION
  • SYSTEM
  • SERVICE
The measurement can be started manually with the "Optic"-key upon addition of the reagent, or with an Autopipette, which electronically triggers the reaction start or with a regulary Laboratory pipette and the Automatic Optic Start (AOS). The results are displayed in units of optical density and the selected dimension. An optional printer will automatically print out all results with optic, patient and test information. The patient identification number can be optionally selected between:
  • NO PAT.ID
  • MANUAL ENTRY
  • AUTOSERIES with Start No.
  • BARCODE
Using the TECO Softwaretools, the measuring curve data can be transmitted to a personal computer, and loaded by any spread sheet with graphic functions. Instrument software updates are easily downloaded from a personal computer to the instrument.
